About the Villa

Where exactly is the Villa located?

  • The Villa is located on a gated community around 15 minutes walk north of the Rubicon Marina.  If you visit we’ll share more detail
  • How long does it take to get to the Villa from the airport?
  • Around 30 minutes in a car
  • Do I need a hire car if I visit?
  • Hire cars are great value on Lanzarote and hiring a car for a week is a comparable cost to a taxi to and from the airport.  We would recommend hiring a car because it makes it easier to carry shopping etc.  It’s not essential but desirable

  • It has three bedrooms.  One double upstairs and a twin and a single downstairs.
  • Are there house rules?
  • Yes.  No illegal substances are to be used in the Villa or garden.  Smoking and vaping is only  permitted away from the house.  The area is quiet and it is essential that people are quiet and respectful from 9pm to 8am every day and 9am on Sunday.
  • Is there a swimming pool?
  • Yes there is a heated pool that is approx six metres by three metres.
  • Is there air conditioning?
  • Yes in each bedroom and the living room

The surrounding area

  •  Is there a shop/shops nearby?
  • The nearest shop is around a 10 minute walk from the Villa.  These include a local Spanish supermarket and a British supermarket.  Within a 5 minute drive of the Villa there are the choice of 3-4 supermarkets, as well as retailers and a pharmacy.   There is both a LIDL and ALDI within a 10 minute drive of the Villa
  •  Where are the nearest places to eat?
  • Within a 5 minute drive/15 minute walk lies thee Rubicon Marina with a large variety of restaurants including: tapas; French; Indian; Streakhouses; Italian.  There’s a fine dining restaurant less than 10 minutes walk from the Villa
  • Where is the nearest beach?
  •  Playa de las Colorades is a 10 minute walk from the Villa, Playa Dorada – a beautiful beach with plenty of water sports is 10 minutes in the car or a 25 minute walk
  • What is there to do on the Island?
  • Timanfaya National Park and volcano is probably the most famous tourist attraction.  However there are also a wealth of different options – from Buggy tours to dolphin spotting and from camel rides to wine tasting.  Around 15 minutes drive from the Villa is Uga – famous for the best smoked salmon in the world.  Mirador de las Salinas is famous for crystal sea salt;  Yaiza is an unspoilt town that is a trip back in time;  La Graciosa is a small Island off the tip of Lanzarote that you can visit.  Artist Cesar Manrique’s house is fascinating and there’s lots more besides.  Whether you want a blast of sunshine or a cultural week away, Lanzarote will cater for it all
  • Is it hot all year round?
  • Lanzarote gets very little rain and is usually between 18-25 C.  The exceptions are in the summer when it can get as hot as 35 C and January/February when it is typically around 18-20 C.  Equally we’ve been in February and it’s been 25 C and when it does rain, it can be prolonged.  There’s plenty of shade in the Villa and aircon in every bedroom if needed
